Tabling in my first ever zine event at the Grand Rapids Zine Fest. It was an honor to participate in such an inspiring showcase of the limitless creativity that goes into making these tiny books, so near and dear to our hearts.

Love~2~Love~Ya
Two color risograph valentines cards available at Nora, Detroit
Big fan of Valentine’s Day over here - and just spreading love to dear ones and strangers in general. I use this hallmark holiday as an excuse to geek-out n freak-out as if we’re all in grade-school making sweet little somethings for our best friends kleenex mailbox. My heart throbbed extra this year when I got to transcribe love notes onto these individually decorated riso-grams, which were surprise mailed to people’s loved ones.
BALL DON'T LIE
Piston’s (Back to Work Era) Tear-Apart Valentine’s Cards. Inspired by a similar design made in collaboration with dear friend Paul Skelly of the Portland TrailBlazers.
Winter Ramblings
Winter ramblings around Copper Harbor, Michigan. Donnie and I skied at Mt. Bohemia and went on winter walks exploring the tippy top of the Upper Peninsula. As aquarian babies, we are both prone to enjoy the serene solitude and joys of winter’s soft side. All photos taken on the Minolta SR, 35mm expired color reversal film, developed at Blue Moon camera in Portland, Oregon.
Prints with Friends
Molly Manor is a life-long friend, a sister, and someone whose creative always inspired and energized me. It was a dream come true to finally get to collaborate with Molly - bringing together our two different focuses, we turned her one of a kind acrylic paintings into illustrated risograph prints. I love the way Molly’s style translated even within the restraints of process printing.
Through this project, I learned more about sizing for prints; for example, even if you want to sell something as ‘full bleed’ it should have a paper border for handling and the artists signature. Since I wanted Molly’s prints to be ‘full bleed’ at 8"x 10", I should have trimmed them to 10"x12", with a 2” white border on all sides. It’s tricky to navigate the possibilities of sizing, especially when attempting to make things compatible with common frame sizes (could Target and IKEA please get together and find some common ground?).

Roxaboxen
It’s a serendipitous and beautiful thing to fall in love with a place. No less thrilling, romantic, or comforting as loving a person. I’ve come back to this bend in this river throughout many years, whenever my heart needs mending or my soul needs skinny dipping, this place sets me right.
